| UPDATE: September 07 - Rusty continues to mature into a lovely male. His fiber is dense and crimpy, and has good staple length. Histogram continues to be good. I plan on having him gelded in 2008 so if you want a nice Hemingway grandson at a gelding price, give me a call!
UPDATE: APRIL 06 - Check out the new pictures of Rusty, taken in full fleece. He is about one week past his first birthday in the new (pictures 2, 3 and 4) pictures. His fleece is fine and crimpy, with a long staple length. Histogram is excellent (the best one of the year), especially the SD - one of my breeding goals is to get that below 3. Rusty shows me that the Hemingway line is a step in the right direction.
Is he herdsire material? I'm not sure on that one yet, but he definitely has the fiber stats I want in my breeding program. Either way, he can be purchased now at a gelding price - no further obligation if he turns out to be herdsire quality. Or he will make a wonderful fiber animal, herd companion or 4-H project. |
